Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in my home. My cat kept getting on some cabinet doors I was painting. She perched up there with this look of complete guilt and no regrets, so I snapped a picture!

Time

It was late afternoon/ early evening. I was waiting on my first coat of paint to dry so I could apply a secondary coat!

Lighting

I wanted to show Midnight’s personality. She is quite caring but she does what she wants. She lives life according to her own rules. This picture personifies her as the queen she thinks she is.

Equipment

I shot this using my Nikon D5500 using the 18-55 lens. No flash die to the afternoon sun providing s ton of natural light.

Inspiration

I love photographing my animals. Their individual personalities tend to shine through. When I get a chance or opportunity arise, I like to take it!

Editing

The only thing I really did here was add a filter to make this black and white.

In my camera bag

I normally have the 18-55 and 50-300 lens that fit my camera. I don’t usually need much more than that. I carry my monopod as well as several SD cards, just in case I get really inspired and of course an extra battery.

Feedback

Don’t forget the day to day moments. Photos don’t always have to be grandiose.
