Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my personal garden located in Port Snettisham, Alaska

Time

It was taken in the mid afternoon sun sometime in late July.

Lighting

The way the sun made the orange pop had me in awe so I had to capture it in a photo.

Equipment

I use a Nikon D3100 with the stock lens

Inspiration

I’m obsessed with my garden and especially these poppies so I had to capture the moment to savor for longer than a flowers life.

Editing

I upped the contrast alittle and sharpened the image up a bit.

In my camera bag

Living in remote AK I noramally like to travel light because I’m generally hiking and out on the water. I generally just take my stock and zoom lens.

Feedback

I am just a hobby photographer but I slowly have been learning along the way. My advice would to be to not be afraid of alittle trial and error. Take 100 shots of the same flower using different settings and angles until you get something that makes you happy.
