This picture was taking during a work/meeting travel, mixed with of 11 days of road trip vacation, alone in Banff, AB, CA, in low season. This beauty is the legendary Lake Louise.Time
On my 3rd day in Banff, on October 19th, 2016 at 1:34pm. I had seen all the different weather changes during those 3 days. That time of day, it was calm, clouds moving out, no wind. I loved the blue sky popping out and the foggy top mountains clearing up slowly.Lighting
Mother Nature was doing her thing with the lighting! I waited 2 hours for the clouds to move out of the mountains. The water is a touch greener than the blue usually seen on photographs of this lake because there was no sun present. It gives it a low light and calming ambiance naturally.Equipment
To be honest, this trip, I had no camera. Traveling ultra light with only one carry on bag and I was too scared to have the camera stolen. I used my Iphone 6 at the time. The worst thing...the last day heading home, my Iphone got stolen 15 minutes before leaving to the airport. It had 900+ photos of the 2000 kilometres I had done and no backed up pictures! Ended up, it had backed up on the Apple TV's cloud! Let me tell you that I have learned my lesson to back up often now! Found out the phone can do wonders too!Inspiration
The beauty of the mountains, a part of my country I had not seen in real. The hours of Google planning and research. That day it was the re-flexion of the mountains, the calm and color of the lake, the rocks in it. That branch of tree was at first annoying me because it was in the way, on top of the mountains! Had to fin a way to make friends with it!Editing
Did not for this one. I'm a self learner, still experimenting with the software. I did retouch it later on for practice and by curiosity, it ended well. I am here at Viewbug because of all the inspirations, tricks, photographers. It pushes me to try more and learn from all.In my camera bag
Canon T6i body, lens EF 75-300mm 4-5.6 III and EF-S 18-55mm Macro, 3 memory cards, my phone that has the Canon digital software app to transfer my pictures ( did I tell you I learned to back up on the spot now! ). Another story; I had only one memory card in the beginning and ended up forgetting to put it back in the camera and starting shooting at a location... Learned again! A pink lens cloth, 1 spare cap, one lens filter and plastic bag if there's heavy snow, rain or dust. And finally the beast, the EF 70-200mm F2.8L IS USM.Feedback
Mother earth gave us beauty on this planet, capture it! Do not be scared of the weather, stepping in water, or a rock, leaning on a branch ( or playing with it! ), composing with what is there at the moment and or be patient and be careful, it can be dangerous. Trying shots even if not certain of the results, you can be surprised.
