Only 20 people per day are allowed to visit the Wave. A Coyote Butte North hidden geologic wonder. To get there, aside being lucky enough to be selected through a lottery, you have to hike on an open desert for 3 miles with very barely no indication as to where to go. The weather forecast announced thunderstorms, heavy rain and therefore high risks of flash floods. With no way to protect ourselves against lightnings and a high risk of our 4wd getting stuck in the mud we were close to give up. Because this was probably the only opportunity we would get to visit this place in our lifetime we decided, against all odds to go. Flash flood we got, stuck in the mud we got, heavy rain we got, lightning we got. But as soon as we reached the Wave, a thinning we got! That photo of my girlfriend and I standing there in the middle of the Wave is more than just a picture. It's a proof that sometimes you have to go through rough patch before reaching the place you want to be.
