Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the surf on Long Beach in the State of Washington, near the border with Oregon.

Time

The view was to the west and the photo was taken in late afternoon as the sun was setting - thus, the reflection on the sand.

Lighting

The lighting was actually perfect because it allowed for a warm glow as well as reflection in the sane.

Equipment

I used a Nikon 4Ds as I recall, with a hand-held 28/300mm lens.

Inspiration

I just loved the model in her burlap dress The model was a great horsewoman and confident enough to go hands free.

Editing

I added some texture to the sky, because it was fairly flat grey. I added a soft tint to harmonize with the burlap in the dress.

In my camera bag

I am a Nikon photographer. I carry various lenses, including 14/24, 25/70, 70/200, 28/300, 80/400, 200/500, and Sigma 150/600. I also have a couple of Sigma art lenses. I have a great Really Right Stuff tripod and ball head. I love my Think Tank roller bags.
