Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo along the beach in Venice, California.

Time

I believe it was around February 2017. I would say that It was little past 07:30 in the Morning.

Lighting

The sun just starting to show. The light was crisp, clean and golden.

Equipment

I used my Canon 7D with my favorite lens Tamron 70-300 mm Camera: Canon EOS 7D Aperture: f/5.6 ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/3200 Focal Length: 300/1

Inspiration

I was very inspired by the 'Piper' is a 2016 computer-animated short film produced by Disney Pixar Animation Studios. Then, I remember that I always see those birds on the beach, every morning. So, I went to the beach and watch the sandpiper birds for hours. And planned to capture the photo, the next day.

Editing

Yes, a lot of Lightrooms processing. And some photoshop retouching and cloning.

In my camera bag

I barely have my camera bag or camera gear with me. But, when I do. You will see me with my Double Dual Camera Shoulder Strap, tripod, laptop, tether cable, laptop charger, Canon 7D, Canon 18-55 mm, Tamron 70-300 mm, Canon 4 batteries, Panasonic Lumix G4K, Panasonic Lumix lens 12-35 mm, Panasonic 3 batteries, light meter, and an intervalometer.

Feedback

To catch any fast-moving or flying birds or wildlife. 1) you will need a zoom lens starting at 300 mm. 2) You will need a camera that can shoot a very fast frame, recommend at least 10 frames per second, with fast shutter speed combination, at least 1/1000. 3) Trust Nature. Nature always reveal itself. Then, you will see the running and flying pattern. Then, you will be able to time your shot. 4) Do not ever try to capture something similar to anyone else. Take your own shot.
