Fantastic piece. A self-portrait I presume? You do very well! One thing you can't complain about is the model. Love the lighting, it is on the money! Keep up the great work. Cheers!

Location
I took this self-portrait in my bedroom, the only room with more than one window in it. It's one of my favorite spots to practice self-portraits, because I feel like I am in a safe-zone where people can't stare or give me funny looks.Time
This photo was taken right before golden hour when the light peaks in through my drapes.Lighting
In my photography, I love to show the contrast of how light hits an object. In this particular photo, I wanted the light to illuminate my eye, while the other half of my face is covered in my hair and shadows.Equipment
For this self-portrait, I used my Canon Rebel t3i and a tripod with a cheap remote I got off of Amazon. I think there is a lot of pressure to have top-of-the-line equipment, but really, the concept and emotion makes a photograph more than the quality.Inspiration
My style of photography is very specific towards people, and on this particular day, I can remember feeling very anxious to take photos; however, I had nobody to take photos of. So, instead of remaining irritated, I grabbed my equipment and practiced on myself. It's true that opportunities for improvement are every where, if only we have the desire to keep learning.Editing
In this photo, I wanted to create a warm environment that enhanced the intense gaze, so I created a matte-effect using the curves adjustment in Adobe Photoshop. Here's a little secret: I do this to most of my photos. In my camera bag
I'm a very light packer when it comes to photography. I normally have my camera, two lenses (50mm and 28mm), and some type of prop. I love creating that large depth of field when you feel as if the photographer is peaking behind something to capture the shot. With that being said, I usually keep some dried flowers or greenery in my bag to place slightly in front of my lens.Feedback
The keys to striking photography are appealing colors, good light, and raw emotion. If you ever feel like you are having a bad day, use it to your advantage. Most people only want cheerful photography, but I am more drawn to moody photos. At the end of the day, you are your best subject.
