This beautiful example of St. Augustine's signature Spanish architecture houses the Lightner Museum and City government offices. It's so striking that it would (almost) be a pleasure to go to work!
The building is the former Alcazar Hotel, which was built in 1888. Henry M. Flagler commissioned this architectural masterpiece. The Alcazar closed during the Depression, but reopened in 1947 by Otto Lightner, who began its present use as a museum two years later and turned the building over to the City of St. Augustine.
The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Stay tuned for further pictures of this building's interior.....

One day we will get there !! Being the oldest city in the Americas, I have always had a fascination for St. Augustine. Beautifully captured Kay.

Pretty cool structure you found. I think I would like the climb to the towers for a long look.
