Broken top stands at 9177' and is an extinct stratovolcano that has been eroded by glaciers through time which gives its "broken" appearance. I took a day trip through the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway hoping for a perfect reflection at sunset at one of the lakes and found this interesting composition at Sparks Lake. Unfortunately, the water had other plans about reflecting so I used a 30 second exposure to smooth out the water with my Polarizer and 9x ND filter , blended another exposure for the light on the mountain and the sky in Photoshop. Also, I am pretty sure the bugs here are immune to the effects of insect repellent.
