Behind The Lens
Location
On the outside front door, I had decorated with a hanging wreath, just as I had done for years. Every now and then, when I was in the foyer, I would hear a cacophony of tweeting, as if there were tiny birds making a real raucous. When I would get close to the front door, the tweeting would stop. I was extremely perplexed, but since the foyer door was right next to our fireplace, I decided that there had to be birds that had gotten trapped in the chimney. Case closed, or so I thought. Days later, I was sweeping the bricks near the front door wreath, when a small bird flew out from behind the wreath. And not only one bird, but another bird flew at me from the other direction. This encounter led me to investigate what was behind the wreath. I was excitedly surprised to discover the smallest blue eggs in a nest, that was snuggly nestled behind the wreath.Time
I discovered this nest in mid morning, after I was somewhat attacked by 2 birds, one of which was behind the front door wreath.Lighting
I had to wait until it was bright enough to see the nest and eggs, since they were both compactly hidden against the foliage of the wreath.Equipment
I had to prop my iPhone up against the front door, so I could gently maneuver the camera lens with the nest in plain sight.Inspiration
I was so excited to not only hear birds tweeting on the other side of the front door, but I was given the amazing privilege to actually see the mother and father birds, along with their nest of blue eggs.Editing
I did not use editing of any kind.In my camera bag
My iPhone is in my back pocket.Feedback
