I took this photo in Molino Florida in my studio.Time
3:00pmLighting
First I blacked out the room for zero natural light. I like big contrast for a dramatic image when doing my sports sessions, so I used a 900 led light panel with barn doors where I imagined the stadium/park lighting would shine down on the player.Equipment
5D mark III Canon 1.2 50mm No flashInspiration
I love doing unique genres and trying new things. I like when sports images are intense.Editing
Post editing, I added some splashes of water and gave a more hdr look.In my camera bag
At all times I carry a 5d Mark III, canon 1.2 50mm, Canon 70-100 /4.5-5.6L IS USM, Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens for Canon, 600 exrt with a soft boxFeedback
You'll need to keep the shutter speed to a faster setting to avoid blur with the motion, and it may take more than one try, so don't give up after one or 2 attempts! The biggest struggle I have is getting the athletes to keep character like they are actually in a game. Most people are a little uncomfortable in front of the camera at first, so just do your best to make them feel comfortable and let them know it's ok to have to do a few attempts as opposed to just one shot.
