Location
This photo was taken in my back yard in Ohatchee. I love the unique color combinations. The plant is called four-o'clock because its flowers, from white and yellow to shades of pink and red, sometimes streaked and mottled, open in late afternoon (and close by morning).Time
These bloom during my favorite time of day. I take my walk, camera in hand, during the evenings. The colors are very eye-catching during that time of day.Lighting
I always try to use natural lighting when photographing out doors but on this particular shot I used the built in flash on my Sony A6000Equipment
This picture was a hand-held shot taken with my Sony A6000 using the built in flash and my 50-210 lens.Inspiration
The eye-catching combination of red-on-yellow in the dappled evening light caught my eye. I remember taking several pictures that evening but this one was the most memorable shot of the evening.Editing
I did not do any post processing. In my camera bag
I do not carry my bag with me on my evening walks. I put my fully charged extra batteries in the pockets of my camera strap.Feedback
I always tell others who are interested in nature photography to photograph what you love and always, always have extra batteries. You never know when you may come across something really cool like a bumble bee who’s legs are so loaded with pollen his wings will barely carry him home. You definitely do not want to miss that.
