Location
This photo was taken at Myponga Beach, old jetty ruins, which is about an hour drive south of Adelaide in South AustraliaTime
I took this photo at sunrise, it was the last couple of weeks of daylight saving, so I made the most of the later sunrise, and made the hour journey south to Myponga. I still had to set my alarm for around 5am to get there in time though.Lighting
The light this morning was just magical. The sun rising in the east, and thunderstorms and showers brewing to the west. I was delighted when the double rainbow appearedEquipment
I shot this with a Nikon d750 and 16-35mm. Tripod and nisi filters - polariser and 3 stop grad ND, and 6 stop ND for a longer exposureInspiration
This is a spot I have been wanting to get to for a long time, but it needs the right conditions. With a higher tide forecast, and the hope of some nice clouds, I set of early not knowing what I was really going to get once there, but it was perfect conditions when I arrived.Editing
I always do some work to my images in lightroom and photoshop. I think I combined a couple of exposures for this oneIn my camera bag
For seascapes, I always pack my Nikon d750, 16-35mm and my nisi filters, which I use with a manfrotto tripod.Feedback
This spot is much better with a higher tide, when the tide is out, there is no water around the old jetty pylons, and the rocks are all exposed. The forecast of a possible shower is an indication that you might see a rainbow, but that was very unexpected for me on this morning.
