Location
It was taken in Potsdamer Platz (Berlin). Although I had seen that building for many years, I had never seen it from that angle before. This angle is just visible while crossing one of the big streets in Potsdamer Platz, so I guess before I was always just caring of crossing the street with green light. This time I looked above and saw it; I just had few seconds to take the picture before it became red light and cars would start overdriving me.Time
It was past midday, I just had come out of the movie teather during the Berlinale Film Festival, and I went for a little walk before entering to the next film. There was a cloudly sky that I liked a lot with that light, so I prepared my camera.Lighting
The lighting was nice at that time because it created a good contrast between the sky and the clouds. It was like the sky had some patches.Equipment
It was taken with my little Canon 100D, and a 55-250mm lens (in 55mm). This lens is very versatil, it let you play with a lot of scales, even good for portraits.Inspiration
The building, full of glasses, has a beautiful composition with that many lines and details. Altough it is not symmetrical at all, from this angle it was a really nice perspective to take a shot, with that main black line dividing the building in two.Editing
I took the picture already in monochrome in my camera, and did not post-processing. The only thing I did was cutting a bit one edge of the picture, to make it more symmetric. In my camera bag
I'm always with my Canon 100D, with the 50mm and the 55-250 Canon lenses. I need to afford the 24-70mm lens to complete the bag, hope I get the enough money soon for that.Feedback
Architecture can be photographed in many ways; the important thing is to have the vision in your mind to shot it from the best possible angle.
