Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Tuscany, Italy (near San Quirico d'Orcia) during photo trip with colleagues photographers. We found this tree on wheat field and this was wonderful scenario for taking a lot of photos.

Time

Photo was taken afternoon, conditions wasn't the best but we didn't looking for this location. We just found it and take photos at certain moment. Next time we will try to be there during sunset to get better colors and shadows.

Lighting

Lightning conditions wasn't good because sun was to high and to strong so there was challenge how to set up camera to get good colors.

Equipment

This was shot on Canon 70D with Canon EF 24-105 f4L which I borrow for test.

Inspiration

We was looking for wheat fields with cypresses when this tree pop up before our eyes. Scene was so strong so we decide to stop van and try to capture this wonderful tree.

Editing

For post processing I'm using Lightroom. At this photo I apply minimal light, contrast, darkness and saturation corrections. Crop was used for better rule of third positioning.

In my camera bag

In bag I'm always taking 17-50mm 2.8, 50mm 1.8, flash, rain cover, spare batteries and remote controller. Tripod is also one of things I always have with me no matter where I'm going. I also have small car toy which sometimes help me to create better composition or some special effect during city exploration.

Feedback

Always be prepared to see something unusual in nature. Every moment is different so at same location You can take totally different photo.
