Location
This photo was taken in Rincón, Puerto Rico. The beach is called Domes and it is very popular amoung surfers. Domes Beach was the site of the 1968 World Surfing Championships.Time
The photo was taken around 10:00a.m.Lighting
The light that day was perfect, there were a few coluds in the sky.Equipment
For this photo I used a Canon 5d mark iii and a Canon EF 500mm f/4 L ii lens with a 2x converter extender. The photo was taken handheld and no artifical light was used.Inspiration
While I was waiting for some whales to pass by the coast of Rincón I spoted this surfer in Domes Beach. The young man was full with energy and suddenly the rush of adrenaline kicked my senses. This surfer put a show for me, his skills were amazing, he was dancing in the water with his surfboard. That day I was not able to photograph the whales but I had a big simle in my face while I was driving back home, this young man made my day!Editing
No, I hardly touch the photo. I just did a small crop to position the subject in the right place. In my camera bag
In my bag I usually carry a Canon 16-35mm f/4 lens and some Lee filters since I enjoy doing Lanscape Photography.Feedback
Always have fun with it while you're doing this, never think to hard and look at the weather report for the ocean conditions. Make sure that you go of that time of the day when the light is better. Use the lowest iso while shoting at the highest speed possible, remember you want to freeze that moment!
