Behind The Lens

Location

In was taken last winter, in the Romanian mountains, near Ranca Resort.

Time

It was about 11-12 in the afternoon

Lighting

The clouds were low, and the light made them look so unnatural as they passed by.

Equipment

I was using my Nikon D7000, with a Nikor 70-300mm lens

Inspiration

They were three bike riders among all those cars, and they seemed so relaxed, and carefree. I was in the right spot, i was waiting for them to reach my possition, and as they did, i snapped the shot. It felt like they were a little closer to the sky than the rest of us.

Editing

What i did was i wanted to bring out the clouds a little more, and make the rider as a silhouette. I did not want a recognizable character, i just wanted that passing shadow through the cluds. Something that you catch in the corner of your eye, yet the memory of it remains with you longer than any image.

In my camera bag

I don't carry much equipment. I just have a Tamron 17-50mm, because i love its optics, and a Nikor 70-300 for the longer shots. I sometimes carry a Nikor 50mm, but i rarely use it.

Feedback

The only advice that i think would be relevant is allways have your camera near by. You never know when or where the moment is going to be.
