Location
Along the river in Mentone, Alabama.Time
This photo was taken at about 3:30pm in the afternoon in mid November.Lighting
Natural sunlight. The sunlight with the autumn foliage created this wonderful reflection on the water.Equipment
Nikon D3000 with 18-55 mm lens. No tripod.Inspiration
My mother and I had visited Mentone the week before but when we got there, it was already getting too late to see everything we wanted to see. We're took as many photos as we could of the beautiful fall foliage along the boardwalk and at DeSoto Falls. We decided to return on this weekend and walk along the river to see if the water reflections we're as pretty as they were at the falls. Once we got further down the river, the beauty was just amazing. We were able to capture many images of the autumn scenery.Editing
No. This photo is straight out the camera. In my camera bag
Nikon D3000, Nikon D3200, 18-55 mm lens, 55-200 mm lens, macro lens kit, extra SD cards, battery chargers.Feedback
For autumn water reflections, plan your trip so that you will be shooting in late afternoon and early evening hours and let the sun be the only lighting you need. Stand in a shaded area and aim to where the sun is shining down on your subject. Your colors will be beautiful and natural and your editing will be minimal if you have to edit at all.
