“Knowing when and how to change course is important to success. Self-doubt is a lighthouse that will keep you from running aground. Don't become shipwrecked on the rocks of time. Be willing to rethink your decisions and change course.”

Location
This photo was taken at one of my favorite Chicago landmarks, Navy Pier Lighthouse.Time
I took it at the sunset.Lighting
To get the perfect side light on the lighthouse sunset was the best option. One of the challenges was trying to get in to perfect position on a moving boat.Equipment
Since the boat was moving, tripod was out of the question. I was shooting handheld with my Sony A7R II and Sony FE 24-240mm.Inspiration
I love photographing lighthouses and I’m lucky enough that I live in the area with a ton of them. I love a challenge and having a fresh look on a subject that is photographed a million time is what inspired me to plan and take this shot.Editing
All processing was done in the Photoshop. In my camera bag
Righn now I always have Sony A7R III and few lenses. My favorite is 24-105mm, 16-35mm and Canon TS-E 17mm.Feedback
The shoot should always start with the idea first, than chasing for the good weather conditions and the latest is execution. What camera or lens do you have is not really important as long as you know how to use it. And the latest part of this equation is knowing how to edit your photos and style them in your own unique way.
