Location
I took it in Bad Harzburg, Germany.Time
On a rainy autumn morning.Lighting
The light was extremely soft. I used a tripod, so it didn't really matter that it wasn't really bright.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7100 DSLR, Sigma 105mm macro lens, and a Vanguard Alto Pro 263 tripod.Inspiration
I was waiting for my family to leave a museum shop where they were looking for souvenirs. Then I saw the huge droplets on the leaf...Editing
A bit of selective sharpening and color correction, no more.In my camera bag
When I am traveling, I usually only carry my D7100 and a Nikkor 18-135mm. On top of that, I carry a Nikkor 35mm prime lens or 70-300 tele zoom, depending on my plans for the day.Feedback
Get a good tripod. Stability is critical for shots like this one. And: Take your time when composing the shot and making sure the leaf is on your plane of focus. It can be fiddly, yes, but it's definitely worth the effort.
