Behind The Lens

Location

I live in a rural area and scenes like this can sometimes be taken for granted. When the canola is in flower it dramatically changes the landscape around.

Time

This was taken about mid afternoon on an otherwise overcast day .

Lighting

The afternoon was an almost dreary grey day when an opening appeared in the clouds and the sun shone directly on the paddock, bathing the canola in an unreal golden light. i shouted to my husband " stop the car".

Equipment

D5200 Nixon with wide angle lens . on flash , no tripod .

Inspiration

The absolute unreal lighting created by the sun breaking through the clouds. It just brought out the intense yellow in the canola crop.

Editing

Only to crop and bring the lone tree centre in in the photo.

In my camera bag

The usual array of lenses, filters, batteries, cards that most photographers carry around . More than is necessary in a lot of cases but when you need it and don't have it ???

Feedback

Always have your camera at hand . I could have missed this if the camera bag was not in the car.
