Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Dullstroom South Africa at Trout River Falls. Dullstroom is known for its Trout fishing. This is one of the Trout dams.

Time

I love this picture, it's one of my favorites. It was taken late afternoon, as you can see it was winter and no wind. The reflection of the trees and mountains are perfect.

Lighting

This picture has not been edited. The sun was setting and only the tops of the mountains caught the sunlight. The reflection of the sky on the water is a beautiful pale blue. It's a really calming scene.

Equipment

The camera I used was a Canon EOS 400D, 18 250mm lens Aperture 40/10 Exposure 1/800 ISO 800

Inspiration

What inspired me, was the calmness at that moment. All was quiet, the sun was setting and the reflections caught my eye, it was perfect timing!

I haven't really got much equipment, I have the following, Canon EOS400D My favoutie lens is 18 250mm 2x batteries and a charger Memory card

Feedback

It's important to be patient and timing is essential. The sun needs to be at a certain position to make sure you have reflecting exactly what you want. Sometimes, like I was, it's just luck that you happen to see the perfect picture and have your camera handy!
