Behind The Lens

Location

At the Great Ocean Road, Australia

Time

I believe it was late afternoon. We had tried to go down the Gibbson Steps earlier from the cliff you see on the right side, but the tide was too high. There was just not enough beach left at that time. It was one of those gorgeous spring days with storms and the occasional sunny break.

Lighting

I loved the warm afternoon light in comparison to the dark stormy sky, which is what I tried to capture.

Equipment

I believe this was still my Canon 400d, which died a year after this. No flash, no tripod, probably my favorite lens at that time, the sigma 30mm.

Inspiration

The dimensions of this rocks, the waves, the storm, the beach walkers...

Editing

Contrast, a bit of sharpening, a slight color correction

In my camera bag

Usually just my Canon 1000d.

Feedback

Honestly, this is a snapshot. I saw the couple, which gives some hint at how huge the cliffs and the rocks are, the light was golden, so I just took a picture.
