Location
this was taken on a drisily day in Snoqualmie Washington state. i was there on vacation with my family at the timeTime
it was late afternoon when i took the shotLighting
even though it was overcast that day, i used an ND filter to smooth out the falling waterEquipment
i shot this with my canon 7D with my 10-22mm wide angle. it was on my manfrotto tripod and i was using a ND filterInspiration
i had visited this location several years ago and at the time i didn't own a ND filter so i wasn't able to get the shot i wanted. this time i had one and made sure to take the time and get the shot i had in my head this second timeEditing
only some small tone adjustments and some sharpening in lightroom and that was itIn my camera bag
canon 7D, 10-22mm wide angle, 85mm, 70-200mm, 580EX II with pocket wizards to fire themFeedback
find a good vantage point and don't be in a hurry. this was a 20 second exposure with the ND filter and that is how to get that silky smooth water so don't think you can just click and go, you need to setup a tripod or some secure surface to keep it stable during the capture
