Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my backyard. On the other side of the fence is a wooded area that is home to 5-10 squirrel's. They come every morning looking for their breakfast.

Time

I took this photo in the early morning. The wooded area is West of our house so the sun was to my back. I'm just learning about photography and one important aspect is lighting....early morning....late afternoon....what is the background like. Shadows and colors are all affected by your light source.

Lighting

I talked about this in the previous question. However, I've learned that color can really be changed depending on your light source. Indoors or out....you need to do some homework on what type of an image you want...clear sky...cloudy day...bright sun can all play a part in getting a good photo.

Equipment

This photo was taken with a Canon EOS Rebel T3i and a Tamron lens.

Inspiration

Well these squirrels come every morning and this guy just sat there like he wanted his picture taken. With the sign I thought he looked right in place.

Editing

I may have done a little to the brightness and cropped a little but nothing serious. Landscape photos take more work in post processing.

In my camera bag

What I have is a Canon 77d and several lenses. Canon 55-250....Canon...18-55....Tamron 16-300 and a Sigma 150-600. I love to take photo's of wildlife so my Sigma is the one I use the most.

Feedback

If you like photographing wildlife ....get a good lens. It will make a world of difference. I love my Sigma lens and it lets me take great bird pictures but can capture great shots of wildlife anywhere. Advice...get out and take lots of pictures and be creative...
