At the Norfolk Broads, went out with some friends and stopped off at Horning. It started to rain, and whilst sheltering under some trees, the ducks and geese appeared to be out for a visit too!Time
Around 5pm. It was rainy and stormy, which was wonderful for the colour of the sky reflecting on the water.Lighting
I got lucky with the light and colour with the sun slowly appearing just after the storm finished, the sky had shades of greys, blues and whites reflected off of the gentle ripples of the water.Equipment
The camera was a Panasonic Lumix TZ55 Compact Digital Camera with no other lenses used. The photo was shot freehand and without any flash.Inspiration
I've always wanted to take a photo of animals, and now was my chance! I quickly spotted them and I captured them just in time before they went away. As it was raining, the ripples in the water made it look even better!Editing
I didn't do much post-processing, but I did apply a filter on the photo in Photoshop on my iPad. I made the surround a bit darker, and slightly increased the quality of the goose. In my camera bag
Since I am new to photography, I don't really have much for my camera. I take a small bag with enough room for a cleaning cloth, my camera filter, and a backup SD card. I hope that by next year I can upgrade to a better DSLR camera and upgrade the camera's bag too.Feedback
The best advice I can give for photography? Trial and error. Sometimes you will see an amazing photo opportunity, only to be gone just before you take the picture. And sometimes a boring landscape can end up being the capture of the month! The best way of thinking in photography is to visit new places, try new ideas, and never give up! Even if you only have a smartphone, you can still take amazing quality photos!
