Location

This was taken at my home in San Diego, California this was part of my short-lived #SundaySelfie series

Time

This picture was taken at around 1pm when the notorious California sun loves to shine through every window

Lighting

At this particular point in my career I had no idea what lighting was, so I positioned myself to wherever the natural light looked best on me

Equipment

I had purchased my camera a few days before so I had no idea how to use it, I set it on a cheap tripod and set the camera on auto then snapped the pic!

Inspiration

Boredom is a funny thing, it was Sunday morning my mom and I were getting dressed and as usual I was done almost a half hour before so as boredom began to creep in I started playing with my camera until I snapped this picture

Editing

Not only was this my first picture taken out of a DSLR, it's also the first picture I ever post-processed. Having never used photoshop before, I turned to YouTube to teach myself how to retouch, this was the outcome.

In my camera bag

We're a low-income family so it takes me ages to save up for anything that isn't a necessity. So far I've only been able to afford my second hand rebel T3i, which I carry around in a shoebox

Feedback

Take a ton of pictures until you get to the perfect one, when you take the perfect one, you'll feel it. Research lighting, and familiarize yourself with whichever program you use for post-processing.
