Seem a lot of these themes, I am attracted to this one because it's so well balanced, everthing leads to the horizon, even the clouds.

I took the photo in the Sederberge in South Africa. It is a beautiful arid area with lots of unspoilt contrasts of mountains and winding dirt roads.Time
We were a group of friends travelling together in three cars. We stopped for a flask of tea an rusks at about midday which wasn't the ideal time for photography but the winding road was so beautiful I couldn't resist!Lighting
I used a circular PL filter to even out the colours of the sky and landscape. It helps to avoid having a washed out sky and/or landscape.Equipment
I used a Canon 350D, a wide angle Canon 10mm-22mm, 1:3.5-4.5, no tripod as there wasn't space to pack one!Inspiration
I just loved how the road seem to disappear into the sky and the lovely etched mountains. It personified an invitation to travelling for me and was a perfect day.Editing
I usually adjust the landscapes by just adding very little to the basics in Lightroom. Because I had used the polarised filter I could just adjust the depth of brightness and tone etc the same overall. In my camera bag
I normally have a 100-400mm Zoom lens, 10-22mm wide angle zoom lens and a 70-300mm zoom lens. I try to take a tripod whenever possible.Feedback
Composition is most important. Try to capture some dust of a vehicle on the winding road without the vehicle. The dust takes awhile to settle so it's possible. It gives the sense of movement that adds interest to an otherwise stagnant landscape.
