Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo while on a short walk two blocks away from home in lovely Bend, Oregon.

Time

This picture was taken in the early evening. We get great sunsets but I was lucky to catch the sun off the tree.

Lighting

The light/dark contrast in this photo was really a stroke of fate!

Equipment

I did not use a tripod for this. I have an older Nikon D100 camera with a 200mm lens for landscapes.

Inspiration

I am fascinated by the shades in nature, how nature often has its own voice. I felt as if this tree was an invitation to stop, look, listen, and then capture! I generally shoot self-portraits but wanted to try something different. This day was one of the few times I took my camera along for a stroll.

Editing

For post processing, I did a fast tweak on the saturation levels.

In my camera bag

Generally, I carry my tripod and a few lens filters. I'm pretty basic with equipment.

Feedback

For anyone seeking unique captures, I would offer that most images are caught when we least expect them.
