Location
This shot is taken in the City of Deventer, Overijssel, The Netherlands on the 11th of August 2015. Its one of the many office buildings.Time
When I started photography about a year ago I also was a big fan of cruising around on my motorcycle. A Honda Shadow at the time. Now I got a custom Yamaha Dragster 800. More about that another time hehehe. So back to the shot. I was driving around on a sunday afternoon. Nothing special but I brought my new camera and started walking around the city center of Deventer. When I first saw this building I was trying to capture the building in full aspect, but when I got closer and looked up I was surprised with the amazing perspective of this angle.Lighting
Well I didn't know anything about using a DSLR but I did read about bracketing so thats what I tried to do handheld. I think the clouds give it the right perspective.Equipment
I used a Nikon D3200 with a Nikon 8-200mm F/3.5-5.6G ED VRInspiration
My first days of photography were not really inspired by one single category. I just wanted to make those shots that made want to wander around new places. So thats why I drove around different city's and explored.Editing
With the Lightroom Trail I was trying to figure out how to combine my exposures. So after a little Y-Tube I found out the secret. After figuring it out I made some basic adjustments to make it all a bit darker to pop out the sky more.In my camera bag
My main equipment is almost all the gear I have. Camera: Sony A7II Just love this thing. Its the future! I know there are things that can be improved but that will come. Lenses: Sony FE 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 Great kit lens. The sharpness is amazing for such a cheap lens. Samyang 14mm f/2.8 This is a amazing "budget" lens. Might not be as sharp on the edges but this is something to keep in mind with Post Processing. I also use Haida 150mm Filters on this lens. I use the 0.6 and the 3.0. That together makes a 3.6 (12 Stops). Minolta AF 70-210mm F4 (beercan) If focused right its a really great budget lens to get some zoom. I don't use this that much because I prefer wide angles. Helios 44-2 58mm f/2.0 (M42) This lens gives the famous Swirl Bokeh. Its amazing for portraits or to isolate a object. Tripod: A cheap off brand Asian tripod. Still looking for a new one. Any advise? Need to be travel light (backpack). Bag: F-Stop Satori EXP with a medium ICU to have some extra space for clothing etc. Accessories: Meike Battery Grip + remote Some cloth and brushes. Flashlight to light paint. Some spare lens/body caps to quickly change everything. A plastic bag to KEEP THE WORLD CLEAN.Feedback
What I would advice to anyone is to just go outside and start capturing everything you love. You will find that you will get a taste of your own. This is so much easier then searching the web all day to find your taste, because its not yours your likely to be disappointed when trying it out. I know some might think that their own "Backyard" isn't good enough to get great shots but well, WAKE UP. It is YOU just need to open your eyes because the world is full of amazing things. Find your own way to capture it now.
