Taken outside the State Library of Victoria (AU), this photo always inspires me to strive for my goals and believe in myself, whatever the difficulty.

I took this photo shortly after discovering another work of art, a painting, featuring a horse and it's rider leaping off a cliff toward the ocean, almost suicidally. The painting became symbolic of my feelings of inadequacy and inevitability around a devastating failure which occurred just after discovering it.

Consequently, for me, this sculpture represents a complete reversal of attitude; a courageous, resilient spirit instead of a cowardly, fragile one.
