Behind The Lens

Location

Slovakia, Martin. Funny story is I found perfect place near busy road and bus stop. We had lots of spectators...

Time

Around two o'clock I think ;) I like to work any time that is not raining

Lighting

It was a midday sun. I used some clouds so the shadows are not that rough.

Equipment

Camera is canon 5D mark III, lens 70-200 2.8f, off hand .. no flash no tripod. Me in higher heels trying to stabilise my holding position in a mud.

Inspiration

I created the dress and the name of the costume is ash dress of resurection. After rough time in my life I let my creativity run wild and created kind of phoenix feeling ... new beginings from the old memories :)

Editing

Yes, I do lots of postproces due the nature of my pictures. I know is better to have set take a shot and be done but as it is costing lots of money I dont have;) I do it this way. I transform green in the picture into white. Simmilar like infrared pictures. For little more drama in the picture. The rest is just minor adjustments of light or shadows. Its one exposition.

In my camera bag

Always my body hehe.hard to do anything without that. My 24-70, 70-200, and 50mm... tripod, flash and lightsoftwners. Also gold and silver reflective boards. If I am planning bigger shoot I have full photo atelier (softboxes, beautydish...) with flashes... but rarely if I just go for a walk is my backpack and me.

Feedback

Its not just about capturing the moment. Its a lot about talking to the person. I use story telling technique. I explain to my model why is she in the dress and whats the story about it. How it should go. Having fun is important. Use what you have around, work with trees shadows and grass.
