This is the center of a quilt my mother owns. The quilt was made by my great-grandmother, Becky. She was a remarkable woman. Becky lived to be almost 100 years old. I remember her working on quilt blocks the last time I saw her - she was in her 90s. Becky lived a long full life and was also the midwife in her county in Middle Tennessee. Becky had 12 or 13 children and each child had several kids. Becky not only delivered each grandchild, but she also made a quilt for each grandchild. This was my mom's. Becky was my inspiration and the reason I started quilting many years ago. Becky hand pieced and hand quilted her quilts. Hence the tiny stitches.
