Behind The Lens

Location

As a travel photographer, opportunities like this happen and taking on the snow monkeys in their home habitat located just outside Nagano Japan, As it sat in the hot spring during the first cold day during a fall afternoon.

Time

Spent the day with the snow monkeys, over 1000 snaps for an end result on just a few photographs.

Lighting

Taken on a cloudy day, natural light

Equipment

Canon 6D, with a 70-300mm lens, all natural light and handheld

Inspiration

The beauty of the animal in a natural habitat, I've been in love with them and a bucket list item I've been wanting to check off has become a dream come true.

Editing

Lightroom only, cropped and lighting adjustment

In my camera bag

I always carry a 16-35mm wide lens, a 70-300mm telescoping lens adding a 10 stop filter for the landscape shots.

Feedback

Patience is a virtue, taking your time is key, selecting the best light may require you to spend a whole day at the park as its surrounded by mountains. I played down on the ground to be at the same level as the snow monkey as it gave me the best perspective and hide all of the background that i disliked .
