I took this photo in my bedroom. I don't have a studio, so I pinned some green poster board to the wall in order to green screen the background out.Time
We shot this in the afternoon but we were inside so it really didn't matter. On top of being inside, we were shooting with strobes.Lighting
I believe it was lit with just one light above and in front of the subject with a reflector below.Equipment
I shot this on a canon 5d Mark II. Pretty sure it was a 16-35mm lens with a strobe slightly above and in front of the subject.Inspiration
the model and myself text back and forth all the time with photo inspiration. she sent me a picture of a hat that was super bedazzled.. I thought, "wouldn't that be cool to bedazzle a model".. the rest is history.Editing
I had to photoshop out the green poster board I used for a backdrop so I could change the background to blue. I did some skin retouching just to smooth it out a bit. I also removed some glue marks where some of the jewels had slid down her skin.. it was warm in my apartment and the glue was melting! the final adjustments were some curve adjustments and a little color correctionIn my camera bag
Normally have my fujifilm x20 (looking to upgrade but I'm a poor artist lol) or my canon 5d Mark ii. I always carry a disposable with me too because you never know when technology will fail you... and who doesn't love a disposable camera?! Sometimes I have a speedlite with me too.. just depends on the adventureFeedback
Lighting is key with images like this.. with the image being so crisp and clear, you definitely want lighting that compliments the model because you will see every detail. Also very important to practice replacing backgrounds if you don't have a studio space. I spend a lot of time practicing my techniques in order to constantly improve.
