Location
This photo was taken from Tower Bridge in London just before sundown. To get the best vantage point for photographers you can buy a 6 pound ticket to go up the tower bridge entrance onto the higher crossing. This angle gives a more favorable shot for sunset.Time
At about 6:30 London time this photo was shot just as the sun was bouncing off the iconic Shard of London.Lighting
It is important to let the light bounce of the glass of the London skyline in order to not get an image that loses some of its best color and contrast. The light came in during the golden hour and made for a beautifully clear photo.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 70D without flash on a tripod.Inspiration
It was my first week studying abroad in London and I just wanted to get out and explore the city. This became one of my favorite spots throughout the semester as it consistently offered a beautiful sunset.Editing
Yes, I typically edit in Affinity Photo and did some highlighting on the building as I love their modern look.In my camera bag
Typically, I will carry a 70D and 80D with me because I like to have cameras on me that also shoot great video. I will carry a 50mm lens, a 18-135 mm lens as well as an old Pentax camera from the 80s. Besides that I will typically have a tripod and the necessary lighting equipment for the conditions.Feedback
Use the light in your favor and play with different exposures. Sunsets rarely disappoint so take a lot of photos while they last. And use a tripod.
