I took this photo at White Island, it sits out from the east coast of New Zealand. It's active, majestic and very kool. A long time ago it was used as a sulphur mine. People actually lived on this volitile island. Their teeth also went black from drinking water with sulphur in it. Some of them were killed whilst working on the island. It's a hard hat area as sometimes rock is spat out from it. This was a bucket list trip for us, there are a few remnants of the sulphur plant, not much as it has corroded and been weathered/broken by the conditions on the island. I think the object in the picture is a Furness.Time

The interest I had on the island and its history, the way the environment and view changes with emissions of steam, gasses, cloud and how the winds carry it about.Editing

If you have the chance to do something on your bucket list seize that moment. And take and make the most of the opportunity. Have shots for your own memories tell the story when you have grand babies. Enjoy and have fun. Also stick to the safety guidelines and don't hurt yourself for a shot.
