I love this photo! I own a canon eos 70d and I purchased a Hoya infrared (R72) filter. Do you know if my camera would need converted to get pics like this?? Any impute appreciated! Thx

I really dig this! Did you do the IR conversion yourself, or send it out/buy the camera that way?

Location
This photo was taken in infrared with a converted Canon camera in Orlando, Florida.Time
It was near noon. Wanted the shadows and lighting to be perfect.Lighting
The lighting was on a mostly sunny day. The contrast of colors when converted back to blues are beautiful.Equipment
I use a converted Canon 30D and an 18-55mm lense. No tripod.Inspiration
I was trying to create a surreal photo showing the huge oaks, but having them look as if it were a winter scene at first glance.Editing
I use Adobe CS5 to edit the photos, converting the infrared back to near normal spectrum. In my camera bag
Normally for infrared photos, I use the Canon 30D and the 18-55mm lense. For close-up photos I use my 55-250mm. I also use a ring flash for shooting people and close-ups. No tripod is needed with a converted camera, but you can get crisper photos if used on occasion.Feedback
Best bet is to try to find a sunny day. Cloudy days have less light. There are 3 types of infrared conversions. Go for the middle conversion. (720) it's the profession grade and better choice. Converted cameras also allow for handheld operation.
