When going past utility poles, when the sun is at the right height, I try to get photos that make the pole look enchanted.

I took this photo on a central California beach, just off scenic Rt. 1, in the late 1980's.

I used a Canon T90 with a Tokina 100-300/f4.0.

Inspiration

The obvious incongruity.

Editing

I leveled, sharpened, color-corrected, etc. There was no modification of the sign or scene otherwise.

In my camera bag

These days, Canon 7D and 7D Mark ii, and primarily Canon 70-200/f2.8 and Canon 28-135/f3.5-5.6.
