Location
Lake Louise, Alberta, CanadaTime
This was taken midday in late November shortly after snowfall.Lighting
Was lucky enough to have super flat lighting due to the overcast skies right after a recent snowfall!Equipment
This was shot handheld with a Canon 7D Mark II and a Sigma 35mm f/1.4 lens.Inspiration
I knew that I wanted the reflection in the glass sphere of Lake Louise, and after framing and slight post editing, all worked out perfectly.Editing
I increased contrast and made the image a little more cold to exaggerate the blues, but quite a simple edit to achieve a dramatic effect! In my camera bag
I always carry a tripod, Sigma 18-35 1.8 and Canon 85 lens and ND filter which usually covers all of my bases.Feedback
The perspective through the glass sphere really made this pretty standard view of Lake Louise stand out from the rest. They are quite a cheap investment and well worth it to create new perspectives. The flat overcast lighting really helped me in this case, ensuring no harsh or uneven lighting anywhere throughout the image.
