Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was actually taken late one night in my girlfriends (the model) garage!

Time

It was late one evening, I was getting the photographers itch as I had not shot in a while. So I sent her a message one night to ask if she wanted to do a photoshoot some day soon, and her response was, "Well, why not right now?" Twist my arm! Lol

Lighting

My lighting was a single 250 watt strobe with a white umbrella. Nothing special.

Equipment

I have a Nikon D7100 and I used my 18-55mm kit lens. I never ever use a tripod unless I'm doing a night shot. I'm a handheld girl.

Inspiration

My model has such a classic beauty and I've taken many many pictures of her, but never s good old fashioned black and white headshot. Originally the photo was in color, but I felt black and white was the best option. I love how this photo turned out. It's definitely a favorite of mine, and I'm so happy so many people are enjoying it as much as I do.

Editing

Only minor touch up on her face, (she had a pimple) and converting it to black and white.

In my camera bag

My Nikon D7100 and my Nikkor 105mm and my kit lens.
