Location
I was on holiday iat Martins Bay on the Warkworth Peninsular, New Zealand, my brother and wife have had a Bach here which has been in the family for many years. This was as the sun started to drop after a beautiful day and I was taken by the beautiful light on the rocks.Time
This was taken around 6.00pm as the sun dropped behind the hill behind me.Lighting
I wanted to slow the movement of the water down to get that smooth water look and used a polariser lens to achieve a slower shutter speed.Equipment
I use a Canon 7D Mark II, Tripod, polariser.Inspiration
Just the love of my new found hobby and the joy of seeing so much more than I ever have before in regards to the beauty of light, reflection, and the different qualities if light at different times of the day. I was reading a book on the Bach deck when I looked up and noticed the richness of the reflection of light on these rocks.Editing
I cannot be sure, I may have tweaked the exposure, or the shadows but I am not so good at Lightroom so probably minimal post processing done.In my camera bag
I always have my Canon 7D my kit lens 18-135mm and my 50mm Prime, Rapid Strap which I love, tripod, ND filter and a polariser as I love taking water shots.Feedback
I seem to be the one always looking for advice as I am very new at this. But just get out there and do what makes you happy if you see something you like the look of, then try to capture the moment.
