Behind The Lens

Location

this photo was taken at Cronkite beach in California

Time

it was taken at 7pm just as the light was starting to fade

Lighting

i wanted to get a really spooky feel but i knew that if i just did a standard long exposure it would be blown up too white, so i used a thick welding glass then used software on my pc to restore the natural colouring

Equipment

i used a nikon d7100 with a manfrotto tripod, and welding glass taped to a tamron 90mm

Inspiration

i wanted a spooky picture of water waves looking like fog and this was my first visit to the USA so i figured the location was perfect

Editing

i used photoshop to restore natural color

In my camera bag

i have a nikon d7200 and 2 kit lenses but i lost all of my equipment in a wildfire in California, but i was thankful that i saved my 18 month old daughter who was stuck in the house with my disabled mother

Feedback

patience patience patience ...it was a long exposure in a freezing cold beach
