Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the wee hours of Christmas Eve. Tried to capture Santa as his sled flew over, but just missed him within the frame!

Time

Late night/early morning

Lighting

Tried a few different shutter speeds, and captured this one on what I believe was my second or third try.

Equipment

Nikon D3200, Nikon stock lens, left eye, right index finger.

Inspiration

Really wanted to capture my own photo of this popular monument while living in Sydney, and thought black and white would bring out the qualities of this interesting piece of architecture.

Editing

Didn't do much post processing at all, just increased the highlights, definition, and shadows every so slightly.

In my camera bag

Nikon D3200, both Nikon stock lenses, one of those tiny flexible tripods that you can never seem to get level.

Feedback

I'm guessing this is one of the most photographed places in the world, so try to be creative and capture it differently from everyone else.
