Behind The Lens
Location
The photo was taken in Cracow. I visited this beautiful city for a few days. I lived in a building on the third floor. There was no elevator so I had to go up the stairs. One day I went for a walk and looked down the staircase and I knew immediately that I needed to take a picture. The view was amazing.Time
That day I got up a little later. I ate breakfast and went out for a walk before the afternoon. This was taken on August 14, 2015, at 11:12 AM.Lighting
Centrally above the staircase was a window in the roof, so the light fell perfectly on the scraps of stairs. At the bottom, more shade covered the staircase giving a little mystery to this place.Equipment
This was shot on my old camera Canon 400D, with a 10-20mm f4-5.6 lens. No other equipment was involved.Inspiration
I have seen many photos of this type, so I knew that such a photo would be worth capturing. However, I really wanted to take a picture of my girlfriend who was standing at the bottom.Editing
I always put all the photos in the Lightroom. I usually do light photo corrections. In this case, I increased a little my exposure and contrast. I also increased transparency so that most of the details are visible. In my camera bag
That day I had my camera Canon 400D and my only wide-angle lens 10 -20mm. Today I am taking photos of my Canon 6D. I put a 16-35mm, f/4 and 24-105mm, f/4 lens into the bag. I am becoming more and more convinced to 85mm f/1,8. It depends of course on whether I do landscapes or portraits.Feedback
I guess everyone knows but the most important thing is to always have a camera with you. If we already know what picture we want to make and we have found the perfect place, it is worth being in this place several times at different times. Conditions, the light changes very often. I always take a dozen photos, check sensitivity, take a few photos with a different shutter.
