Location
The picture was take from a flyover bridge on the main A1139 Fletton Parkway into Peterborough UKTime
I went out about 6.30pm on a September evening, specifically to try to get this picture. It was the busiest time of day and the sky was dark enough to accentuate the light trails.Lighting
There was no other lighting used apart from what you see.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 40D with a Sigma 18~200mm lens. No flash. no tripod. Rested on the railings lining the overpass.Inspiration
I had been interested in long exposure and light trails and decided that this location offered a good chance of getting an interesting result.Editing
Only minimal post processing was used in Photoshop CS6, A curves adjustment to apply some contrast and some noise reduction, but little else.In my camera bag
Always my DSLR at the time of this photo a Canon 40D with the Sigma 18~200mm lens. I also carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ71Feedback
Paitience. Watch the flow of traffic. Try to start your exposure the moment just before the biggest volume of traffic. This will give you longer trails. Good luck :o)
