This picture is taken on Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands- Spain

Time

The second part of the afternoon with the llight coming from the left and when the tide changes and the waves are at its best near La Santa a well known spot for surfers

Lighting

As the wintersun was prominent the adequate speed and diafragm was easy for the 300mm lens

Equipment

Nikon D800E for travel with the 28-300

Inspiration

The waves are very impressive on this west-part of Lanzarote where they come rolling in right from the ocean. Especially by storm the waves can be furious. Some of these guys do tricks on top of these waves I have never seen before and I liked the water making a circle around his turning on top of this one.

Editing

some extra contrast and lifted the shades a bit

Nikon D800E/D750 - 14-24 28-300 85/1.4 and sometimes the 150-600 from sigma- affordable but heavvy to carry around
