Behind The Lens

Location

I am disabled with multiple sclerosis and other ilnesses, so my photography is limited to my local area now. It is good in a way because it makes me see potential photo material in many little things around that could be taken for granted. This was taken in my own back yard, the most spectacular sunset I've ever seen.

Time

This was taken at about 1730 hours. The area had quietened for the night, the sunset spread right across the sky. The sea was lapping quietly about 25o metres away.

Lighting

I felt this didn't need extra lighting. It was nature's own light show.

Equipment

I used a Pentax K 100D - held in my hand/ no tripod. F/6.7, ISO 800, shutter speed 1/60, Focal length 28/1. No flash.

Inspiration

This was the most awe inspiring sunset I'd ever seen. The palms created a good foreground . The cloud formation led the eye away from the left third.

Editing

This photo was completely unedited. No post-processing at all.

In my camera bag

I only have my brother's Pentax K100D, which he has given me on permanent loan and a tripod.

Feedback

Be there at the right moment. Keep watchful for spectaular natural phenomena. Sunsets happen every day and we tend to get complacent and miss them.
