I was downtown Portland-OR, having my daily afternoon cup of coffee when I came across this kid. No much older than I, wearing old close, a backpack on his back, and a guitar in his hands, he engaged me with a smile and asked if he "could play a song to my camera". "Uhn, yeah, why not?" I replied, with an I-have-nothing-to-do-anyway tom of voice.
10 seconds later I was blowing away, and so glad he asked me that question.To be honest I felt like I was the one who should have asked him to play for me. With an amazing voice and very skillful fingers on the strings, he and his buddies improvised a pop-rap song, according to him written by them, with one of the best melodies I've ever heard...
Portland, is so full of surprises.
