Thank you the fog just makes this picture but the tree is pretty awesome as well. I am glad you like it.

That is pretty neat, I had to google it because I never heard of it before.

Location
This photo was taken at Craggy Garden which is on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Photography is pretty much just a hobby for me and this is one of my favorite photographs. I love to visit this nature trail.Time
A photographer friend and my little niece had set out to try and get some photos of my niece and arrived around 1pm. We had a very overcast day and was pleasantly surprised to see so much fog, as this gave the trail such a magical feel to it.Lighting
We were hoping to have good weather when we got here and since it is around 11/2 to 2 hr drive from where we live we did not really know what it would be like. This was a very chilly and damp day which we were not expecting . When we left my house it was sunny and quite nice outside.I did however like the way the lighting was and how it made the trail seem magical.Equipment
This photo was shot with my older camera a Nikon D90.I was using a 18-105 lens as well as a tripod.Inspiration
This is one of the best spots on the trail as I love this tree, It has always looked so magical to me and with all the fog that day it just made it that much better.Editing
I do not know anything about photoshop and just the basics of lightroom . I did very little post processing basically just adjusted the color some and dropped the saturation a little. I am working on learning lightroom and hope to be able to do much more in the future. In my camera bag
I always have my Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 lens which is so far my favorite lens, as well as my Micro Nikkor 60mm 1:2.8 and Nikon 70-300 1:4.5-5.6. I use my Nikon D600 and keep my Nikon D90 as a back up.Feedback
Doing Landscape photography I feel that you must be patient and always have your tripod. Know what the weather is going to be like at your location because it can be so different as it was on this day where we set out with a nice sunny day but once in the mountains being at such a high altitude it was much different.Be prepaired with rain covers for your equipment or umbrellas as you could get a pop up shower at any given time.
